Back to Life...Back to Reality

That's exactly how I feel, like my life has been put on hold for the past couple of weeks. Packing, cleaning, traveling, unpacking.....this feels like a never-ending episode. By the way, we just got our internet hooked up today. So, if you've sent emails, don't be offended that we haven't written, it is coming.

Wow, how long has it been? Thanks to all of you who have faithfully been checking in, it makes me aware of the fact that people are actually interested in me and what's going on in my life.

It's been so long that there is so much to say and I don't know where to begin. I do want to note that the reality of this move never really hit me until our 'farewell Sunday' at Mississauga Temple. What an emotional event that was! In fact, I have been on such a roller coaster with emotions lately, very difficult. So many good-byes, (sad) and so many hellos (happy). So many boxes (frustrated, unsettled, tired) and so many new things and places (intimidating).

The boys just completed their first week in their new school. This deserves its own post. Jacob (7), grade 2 is adjusting but not quickly or easily. It is hard to adjust to a new way of doing things, in a new environment, on a different educational scale. He has cried pretty much every day since being here not to mention the 'acting out'. And the BUS!!!! they are on a bus route to school. This has been a new experience for all of us. I was a nervous wreck the first few days, but every thing is working out. All that being said, Jacob is happy here. He likes his school and teacher and new house (being on the top bunk), and his new church.

Joel and Julia are both completely happy and settled or so it seems. Except during the pot-luck lunch on our welcome Sunday, Julia spent crying under the table. Totally out of character for her. What a way to make a first impression!

I am excited to be here and can't wait to see what God is going to do. Trusting, hoping, praying.

You are back on the "Information Highway". I am going to call, but I was up, and it's late, and I saw a new post, I already left one on steve's most recent post so here is where I am now.
Yeah so Lauren and I are coming out not this weekend but next.
Hopefully this will make it up to everyone for not coming by before you left.
I must say I am so pumped... if calgary.ca, lakelouise.com, and google keyword: hotsprings all had extreme tracker... they would be breaking the bank with numbers... all becasue of me.

I was wondering if anyone one at your new church goes snowboarding or skiing often? casue I am planning on bringing my snowboard, apparently I can't go out there without it.

oh dear I can't wait... this is going to be sooo good!

See you soon!
ha whoo!!! this is really going to happen!

ha whoops i was so excited I didn't even comment on the blog.
Yeah I am praying for Jacob, his school, the transition for all three, and for both you and Steve. I am also glad to hear of the excitement of the arrival.
I wouldn't worry about first impressions, how soon they will be forgotten.
Well see you in 2 weeks,
-Matt

Matt: Glad you can come, look forward to seeing you. Not sure if anyone hits the slopes--but I am sure they do. thanks for the prayer, greatly needed! The kids will be excited to see you, Julia was looking for you on our first Sunday.

Margie: Thanks for checking in, you and yours will be missed. I received all of Jacob's work when he left his school in Mississauga. I found a story he had written in his journal about his new friend Samantha. If i have one regret it is that we didn't get together more often.

Lori: Thanks for the soup, very thoughtful of you. I lost your phone number, give me a call...'kay?

Mike: How 'bout you & Sue taking a trip to Calgary for a weekend?
