Ever hear anyone say, "God will not give you (or me) more than you (I) can handle"? Do you believe it? I don't.
I don't believe Scripture says that. I do know that Scripture says, "we will not be tempted with more than we can handle and that he will provide a way out."
(Leslie's paraphrase see 1 Corinthians 10:13).
But isn't life lived outside of God more than we can handle? I mean really. There are circumstances that we face that are tough, hard to handle, more than we can bear...apart from God's presence living with us and through us. Sometimes, I find just day to day ordinary life more than I can handle.
God never said that we would end up on easy street, but he did say when we find ourselves in the ghettos, He's right there with us.

We have to make sure that it is God giving us these things and not us taking on too much.
I have learned to say no a little better these days for my own sanity.
I do struggle with understanding why God gives us so much to handle though.
