Kids Say the Darndest Things

Sunday morning in church, the kids are seated on the floor for children's time (in front of everyone) with the Sunday School teacher. she asks them if anyone ever sings to them. Julia pipes up, dominating conversation, "ya, my mom sings to me at bedtime". The teacher goes on to say well she sings to you because she loves you. Julia responds, "Ya, but sometimes my mom and dad yell at me!"

Joel brought home a library book from school entitled, "Compsognathus" yet another type of dinosaur. Later, I sit down to read this book to the boys trying the best I can to pronounce that bloody word, I mean it is on every page at least three times. Halfway through the book, as I muddle my way through Jacob says, "You're having a real hard time saying that aren't you mom?" Before I get a chance to say anything, Joel chimes in, "Ya, do we need to get you glasses?"

You try saying comsognathus several times!

Julia loves to sing. At lunch today she was sitting at the table singing 'Best Friend.' "Nothing will ever be that" she sang over and over. Picking up on what she was singing, I started to sing it the right way for her, "Nothing will ever change that". Before long the two of us were singing our hearts out. After a few moments there was silence.

Julia: "mom?"

Me: "yes sweetie"

Julia: "you have a beautiful voice"

Tomorrow is the big day...I am the parent volunteer in Joel's class. He had mentioned before that he wanted me to wear soemthing pretty, so today I asked him,
"Joel, what do you want me to wear tomorrow?"
"soemthing pretty"
"Like what...Jeans?"
"no, a skirt"
"a skirt!!?"
"yeah, and don't forget to put on make-up, especially lipstick."
