Something from Nothing

I am sitting in my family room, yawning needing to go to bed. Our company has left, the kids are finally asleep and puppy is in his crate. Before I enter Neverland I feel like I need to post something problem is, I have nothing.

It has been a long day, in fact, as it gets closer to school starting, the days get longer, go figure. The boys are getting bored from lack of structure although they would never admit it. I need my routine back! I need it now! I thrive on routine and schedules and structure, when it is gone for a long period of time I feel like my world is falling apart. Is that weird?

materialistically (is that even a word?), I got some pretty sweet deals at "The Stuff Mart" (Costco) today. Bought some back-to-school clothes for the kids and a bunch of other 'needed' things..like a bajillion boxes of cereal! Don't worry, it'll be gone next week....our family keeps Kellogg's in business I'm sure. Oh, and we got all our snowsuits for winter (shhh) don't say that word too loud.

Also on this front, first ebay order came today...hooray! Christmas shopping has never been so easy. I need to save some things to get at real stores...what's Christmas without the hustle and bustle of the mall? (I know, I know, we have totally commercialized Christmas and consume way too much in North America...don't worry 'bout me, my own conscience keeps me in check!) Fa la la la l a la la la la......less than 4 months! Good times!

I've been thinking about thanksgiving today. I love it. Not sure how it will be spent this year, being in a new city and all...time will tell. I can almost smell the turkey, yum. I will really miss my family this year. We have to come up with a new thanksgiving tradition this year. For the past 5 years we have gone to pick apples, pumpkins and buy fresh honey on thanksgiving weekend. We may have to settle on just pumpkins, not sure, still doing my research.

I really need to go get some zzzzzzzzzzzz's but I don't know if I'll be able to sleep. I may be up all night wnodering why the heck I don't see any clothes lines around the city. In Mississauga, there was a bylaw that stated you couldn't have them...I wonder if it is the same here.

Hmmmmmm

Hi there Leslie! Thanks for visiting my site! I have the same feeling re: structure. Although, with the kids starting school next week I don't know if I'm ready for that structure yet! Too much to do and never enough time. Have a great day and will visit again soon! I have enjoyed your writing and will put you on my contact list. Blessings!

Hey Les - the stuff mart comment made me chuckle!
The back to school thing doesn't get easier as the kids get older! Even Coreigh (15) is looking foreward to it - but again he won't admit it.
Miss you guys!!!
Heather

If there are bylaws about not hanging clotheslines, I don't know about them.

I know in my house we hang our clothes on racks INSIDE (I know, doesn't make sense, but when you have so few days that you can't hang them outside, you just get used to having them inside)

I guess I'm your friendly calgarian bylaw knower...I always seem to comment about the bylaws...

K, thanks for the chuckle. How does someone even learn what the bylaws anyway?

On a day like today, with the beautiful air and umpteen loads of laundry, I would love to have a clothesline.
