Okay, it has been ONE month, ONE, since the kids went back to school. That means 4 weeks. Today they are off...again! This is the third Friday they've been off in one month.
I love spending time with my kids and all, but talk about major shuffling of schedules and work to be done.
I don't get it....every school day, they want to sleep in, don't want to get out of bed, don't want to get dressed...It is like pushing wet noodles around from the time they get up until the bus comes (I'll be honest and say this happens regularly but not every day). Today being a day off I thought, "Great! they'll sleep in and we can have a slow morning". At the crack of dawn, Joel comes in our room and stands beside my sleepy face hanging off the edge of the bed. The sun isn't even up yet! "Mom!" he whispers. "Mom, I just needed to tell you you don't have to make lunches 'cause we have four days off!" he goes off running. I pull my groggy self out of bed to find the two of them out of bed and completely dressed ready to go! Is there any explaination for this?
Now I have to go and get busy. Lots to accomplish at a high interruption rate...

Welcome to parenthood! One day, when they have kids of their own, they'll complain of this very thing to you. And you can smile (like me) and think "God is Good" Aw! sweet revenge!-Mom
When you know that there is no school, try to remind them that they can have a lazy day and sleep in. Otherwise, like anonymouns said, Welcome to parenthood.
I always told my kids that if they were "too tired" to get up in the morning that they would have to go to bed a little earlier to make up for it. That usually did the trick. Good luck!
