The after school before supper hour is always busy and loud in our house. So much to do and say after not seeing each other all day! Today was no exception. While I was busy at the stove, Steve was at the table helping Jacob with oodles of homework. Julia is chatting and begging me to play polly pockets with her. Joel (having finished all his homework) came bounding down the stairs with two pairs of knitted socks in his hands. "Mom, look at these sweet socks I found in my drawer that someone knitted me." He puts on the wool socks and enters the kitchen where everyone is busy working. He starts running and sliding back and forth back and forth back and forth across the kitchen floor. "Look at how great these socks are for sliding."
Meanwhile the volume in the kitchen just keeps getting louder. Back and forth Joel is running and sliding, chatting the whole time. Here is what he said:
"Today I asked my friend if he believes in God. He didn't know. I asked him if he believed in the devil, he didn't know. I told him if you know God and are friends with Jesus then you can go to heaven some day. He said he didn't understand what I was talking about. I said 'man you should go out and get yourself a Bible and start going to church so you can learn about God.' Mom, can we invite him to church with us?"

Love it. What great kids!
Wow! No wonder Jesus said "A little child shall lead them" I am challenged as I ask myself "When was the last time I asked someone if they believed in God?"
Wow! That's awesome. What a great kid.
he does know and i hope you do invite him.
He sounds like how my sis used to be at that age. She was always asking other kids to church!
Good for him!!!
Let's hope he never loses that spirit!
