I couldn't put it off any longer, the produce trays had nothing but stray, shriveled grapes and dried leaves, the cupboards were empty and all the staples were gone. I managed to scrounge together a lunch for the boys but could only come up with jam sandwiches.
Can you tell I really do not like grocery shopping? Ugh! Julia and I headed to the store today. We got everything I felt we needed to get us through the next few weeks, which was a lot! Then, we headed home to the most dreaded part of the grocery experience...putting it all away. I can't just put them away, I have to clean out and reorganize the pantry first, rearrange the freezer, seperate and bag bulk items, break down cartons, throw out rotten leftovers found in the dark corners of the fridge, clean the newly revealed spilled milk on the fridge shelves and so on. In no time, one hour of grocery shopping becomes and entire afternoon!
How much was that maid again?
But at least we have food! For which we are truly grateful. So much so that we are ready for the next major blackout or hurricane. ;)

Forgot to mention that I saw Last Holiday last week. Incredible. Left me speechless. Go see it, you won't be sorry. I may post thoughts later. There were just so many gold nuggets I was wishing I had a pen and paper (and maybe one of those tiny little book lights so I could see what I was writing)!
