One of the rules we have for our kids while they are still young is, no one helps themselves to snacks (unless it is fruit). In other words they are not allowed to go into the pantry and help themselves, they have to ask first so I can monitor what and when they are eating. I think this is a pretty fair rule.
When I went into the kitchen and pantry to get ready for lunch, I found a stool in the middle (which doesn't belong there) and then the opened and half-emptied cookie box (minus one)!
They didn't even try to hide the evidence! Instead they left all the clues for me to find.
Ah, so cute I couldn't resist taking pictures. Even if it allows you to see my mess!

Ahaha - cute. I guess they couldn't resist.
Too funny. How cute though the pics of the stool and the empty cookies. lol
I think it's a fair rule we have the same rule! Little sneakers!
We have a similar rule but somehow they manage to help themselves regardless! They just scam the box of crackers and run. To the front porch, their bedrooms or anywhere else I am not. I need many eyes, and not so many levels in this house!
I have a snack shelf in our pantry...but my boy knows that he needs to ask permission before helping himself!
Did you manage to figure out who the cookie monster was??! Too cute!
Are you sure it wasn't Steve?
Leslie, I love your kids. I think they are amazing.
so did anyone confess once confronted with the facts?
