Works like a Charm...NOT the Alarm!

The secret is out...I am NOT a morning person. Sorry, call me what you will but I do not like to get "up and at 'em" early in the morning. I need to warm up as opposed to wake up. I am more of a night hawk.

Anyway, what is worse than getting up is being forced to get up...sheesh...leave sleeping beauty alone. I get very annoyed, somewhat angry, when I am being nudged, or called, or kicked (nicely of course) out of bed before I am conscious. And, that unpleasant shrill of the alarm clock, buzz, bleep and blaring....possibly the most annoying noise in the universe.

In saying all that, morning arrives everyday (so far) and I do get up! As much as I want to stay in bed, I don't. My day starts early enough.

I have found the secret to my success in this area. That one thing that triggers the "wake-up" button in my brain. You know, Like in "What About Bob?" when Dr. Leo was trying like mad to wake Bob up, but nothing worked until his alarm sounded...

Now that I have figured out how to use the timer on my Starbucks Barista Aroma machine, the rich, fragrant aroma awakens my senses. It is bliss. I set the brewer to begin before I want to wake up and like magic the aroma does it. Not only that, but I look forward to getting up and taking that first sip delight.

Can't wait till morning! (Did I just say that?)

I reall dislike getting up in the dark winter months, but as it is brighter now and the birds are starting ther chorus, I love to get up before the rest of the house. Soon I'll start having my tea out on the front porch.....

Yup, the winter darkness makes it oh so hard! We even send the boys to school in the dark!

And, due to lack of trees, I don't get to hear the birds in the summer, which is also a nice wake-up call.
