Friday Randomness

I had today all planned out with lots of work to do before the weekend. It is my last day without kids to get my work done. My day has been altered somewhat now because Julia was throwing up last night. Beautiful, just when I thought we were over everything! So, I still have my work to do, as well as some carpet cleaning!

Dollarama has finally made its way here...woohoo! I have been a couple of times already with Lori, my dollar store buddy. There are so many treasures to behold! The downfall of it all is that they accept cash only. What's that about in the year 2006? Who carries cash anymore? I never have cash so I am very limited when I go there which is probably a very good thing, especially since Steve hates the dollar store!
**********
I went for a walk/coffee date with my neighbour again yesterday. I am really enjoying getting to know her, she is wonderful. Yesterday we talked a lot about books and reading and how fun it would be to have some sort of book club. I came home excited about getting my nose in some books.
**********
Julia has made a new friend in the neighbourhood. They have been together a couple of times this week. And of course, when she meets new people, so do I. I had a long talk with the girls mother about online school. It all sounds very interesting. Even though the schooling is done at home, it is not home school. There is a teacher who teaches over the internet, gives out assignments with deadlines and gives out report cards. Hmmm....Ever here of it?
**********
That's all I can offer right now, I've been very empty lately sorry.

Have a great weekend.

My daughter did a year or two of the on-line schooling. She had to be logged on by 8:30 in the morning and taking attendance required a response from her. Individual classes required active participation from the computer. There was no logging on and then going back to bed or to watch t.v.

BTW, I don't think you need to apologize for not posting more than "Randomness". These snippets of your life help us get to know you better, which in turn are an important foundation for understanding the "you" behind other types of posts.

For example, this post grabbed my attention, because I see you building community. You're not hiding away in a Corps office somewhere or limiting your fellowship to the church's schedule. You're being real to those who need real.

Well, except for enabling Lori's bargain shopping compulsion. 8^

Online school for kids? I had no idea. I know about online college and have experience with it - but that's all.

Hope you have a great weekend. :)

I have never heard of online school, that sounds interesting.

Just so you know I love coming here and reading your posts no matter what they are about. I love that you share your life with us.
