A Run Down

Although very busy, the weekend was a great success!

-Friday night was community movie night at the community centre. Steve was there unitl 10 pm and then headed to the grocery store for me to get us through the weekend and then headed to the Greyhound station to pick up Phil and Ashley who came to visit us for the weekend. We were up late late catching up (Phil) and getting to know (Ashley).

- Saturday was a full day preparing for the Mission Fundraiser, (Dinner and silent auction). Steve headed over first to put up tables and chairs and other equipment, dropping Julia off at ballet on his way. Joel and I picked Julia up when she was done and headed over to meet him and to set and decorate the tables. The kitchen crew was there first and worked hard all day and all night as well as the event organizers. Those involved to pull of the event did so much and it was awesome to see them working together for the common goal.

- Steve took the kids home while I stayed back and finished up. I had just enough time to get home, settle the kids change and leave again for the evening. The evening was a great success! A great turnout, a great meal, wonderful prizes and lots of money for missions in Africa.

-We didn't get home until around 11pm or so and then couldn't get to sleep for a while. I also stayed up until after midnight preparing food for our Sunday pot-luck.

-It is amazing how God works things out. Phil and Ashley were such a God-send to us when they offered to keep the kids for the evening. Thank you guys so much we are so grateful. If we didn't have them it would have added worry and stress on our evening!

- Oh and BONUS BONUS BONUS!! I was super excited when Berkley called my lucky bear number FIRST to pick something from the prize table oh yeah ! I never win stuff like this. Anyway, I picked myself up a $100 gift card for Superstore!! Hello!

-Steve was up at 5am Sunday morning and I dragged myself out of bed by 7am. My eyes were red and sticky and didn't want to open at all but I managed as I always do. We headed off to church and then shared in the pot-luck lunch together afterward.

- Another God-send to us for our children are Peter and Amanda. They packed up the kids after church and took them swimming while we had a 2pm meeting. Thanks to you both for helping us out in so many ways, especially grateful for the help with and interest in our kids!

- Our meeting was over just before 4pm and shortly after that Peter and Amanda dropped off the kids. As soon as they did, Jacob had to go for a make-up drum lesson and made it just in time!

-I put supper in the oven and it was the first and only meal we had around the table with our guests. And, in standard Wiseman fashion, it went a little haywire! After supper we all played Disney Scene it and then put the kids to bed. Even though they were exhausted they wouldn't settle. When they finally did..the four of us played Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture. It took us until 12:30am to finally finish. Ashley and I came back to make it very close in the end. The guys ended up winning with a question about the moustache of a king in a deck of cards.

-Now the weekend is all said and done. I promised Julia I would lay low with her this morning. I'm not going anywhere and I'm not doing anything until my 2pm meeting today! We are staying in our jammies, putting pillows and blankets on the floor and chillin' in front of the tube!

Here's to a great day ahead!

Glad to hear it went well. You two are hard workers and it is great to have people who will help with the load!
