Talk to the Hand

This weekend has been pretty relaxing. Because we had every evening scheduled last week, we reserved Friday evening just for us. The five of us planted flowers and transformed our front yard from embarrassingly run-down, overgrown and weedy to a beautiful, eye-pleasing sight!

Saturday morning (Steve was out for breakfast with the guys) Julia told me I could be lazy in bed while her and Joel made me 'breakfast'. I knew if this happened I would go downstairs to a huge mess but at that point I didn't care...she was speakin' my language. Moments later they came up with a star-shaped (done creatively with a cookie cutter with no helpful hints from me) piece of bread smeared with peanut butter and a glass of iced tea.

In the afternoon, all three kids were invited to the neighbour's birthday party which gave me 3 more hours to finish up in the garden..oh ya! I've never gardened before but I think we did okay. I should have taken before and after pics because there is a drastic change. I think the neighbours are a bit relieved ;)

Today was pretty uneventful. After church, Jacob had a drum exam and then we went for a family walk/bike ride to 7 eleven. It was so sunny and warm out that I wanted to take my slurpee and just sit on the deck. Sit. Sit and read. Sit and watch. Sit and listen. Sit and soak in the rays while the kids played. They brought out their super soakers and had a great time playing with the neighbourhood kids. Bliss baby.

We've rented a couple of movies for tonight and then it starts all over again in the morning.

I like candy bottle caps. They used to come in a bag but now they are in a roll. Being mother's day and all, I splurged and bought myself some. Root beer is my fav.
