I think dreams are a fascinating thing.
I don't always dream but like most of us, I do now and then. Lately however, I have been dreaming every night.

For the past month or so, my daughter has developed an exceptional keenness towards prayer. We have to pray every day and she never forgets nor does she let me forget. She displays a sense of urgency towards it. Her prayers have slight variation, but one thing that is always the same is her prayer for her dreams. Being somewhat bothered by (or the thoughts of) 'bad' dreams she prays that God would take them and give her good dreams.
Ironically, ever since this prayer passion has begun, it seems as though her 'bad' dreams have been passed onto me. Isn't that weird? I know it is coincidental but still, it is weird. And still, I am experiencing unpleasant dreams. This is very unusual for me.

I remember (several times) my papa telling me about a recurring dream he had years ago in his youthful days. Before he was a christian and before he became a minister, he would have a dream over and over again about a grand staircase he had never seen, in a building he didn't recognize. Time went on and he continued having this dream. Eventually he became a christian and then after some more time, went on to become a minister. When he arrived at the old SA Bible college on Davisville in Toronto, he immediately noticed the staircase he had been dreaming about.
To me this is fascinating.
I have been thinking about this story a lot lately because a similar thing is happening to me. Periodically over the past few years, I have been having a recurring dream. It is not every day or even every week, but it is regular. Without giving details, the dream is the same each time. It is about a place that I've never seen in reality but recognize well in dreamland.
Some of the stuff I've read says that most (not all) of recurring dreams are nightmarish, but mine is not. Some other stuff I've read has an explanation for everything that you dream and it all has a meaning or message behind it. I don't really know what to make of it all. I mean really, could dreams possibly have a meaning behind them? Hmmm....
Either way, it doesn't consume, distract or worry me but I'd be lyin' if I said I wasn't a tad bit curious.

I have dreams like those...I see a scene laid out in front of me, but I don't recognize the people or the place. Then years later I experience it. It's so weird!
I think that it is totally possible for Julia's bad dreams to be passed on to you, especially since praying about it. My friend was working with sick children in Russia once and she prayed every night that God would take their pain away - even if she had to take it on herself and one day she woke up with severe back pain that required surgery here in Canada and the child she had been praying over was healed. Call me crazy but I don;t think it's a coincedence!
I have a recurring nightmare in which someone, who is chasing me, is trying to kill me. I keep trying to see who it is?
I'm a nice guy - who would want to do away with me?
As a child, I had a reoccuring dream of always jumpin' off a barn - with the preacher. Weird.
I rarely dream. Rarely.
My daughter has had a round with nightmares of HUGE ants attacking her room. It was like terrors and always freaked me out when she woke up screaming. She hasn't had one in a while. Thank the Lord.
I totally believe in dreams! And the Bible supports the whole dream thing. God often spoke through dreams and not just in the Old Testament. Consider Pilate's wife and John. The whole book of Revelation is based on a dream!
I got chills reading this post...not sure why. Weird.
