There is perhaps no greater evidence that human beings act contrary to their self-interest than the fact that we spend so little time talking to the one who made and loves us. An amazingly high percentage of Americans say they believe in God, but most can't find the time or inclination to mutter much more than an occasional request for a small favour.

Prayer has been weighing heavy on me lately. Partly because I feel like I fall so short of what is required/desired/expected of me, but mostly because I know I am missing out on a greater joy and a fuller life.
A while back, a friend shared similar feelings regarding prayer. We talked about meeting together as prayer partners to deepen our conversation with God. It was a nice idea. Summer came and life changed gears. I half-thought that it was left as a passing thought, but now as schedules resume, it was brought up again.
I am excited to meet weekly and to see where God takes us from here.

I know I should pray more often...especially with my hubby. We soooo need to have some quiet time every evening.
