Christmas 2006

It has been quite a busy, yet very enjoyable season. My dad and his wife are here from Ontario so we've been visiting and eating. The weekend before Christmas was quite busy. Saturday began with helping someone move, followed by Julia's parent viewing ballet, followed by a birthday party, followed by Joel's hockey game, followed by a trip to Airdrie to see the light festival. Sunday was a bit relaxed in the morning as we didn't have church, but then it was getting ready for our Christmas Eve candlelight worship gathering. Our church takes a lot of work to set-up and take down week after week.

The kids didn't get up until 6:30 on Christmas morning. When they did, we spent two hours opening stockings and gifts. When that was said and done, the 25lbs turkey went in the oven, and we played with the kids and their new toys.

Dinner was held for a crowd consisting of my family, my dad and his wife and his wife's daughter and her family who live in the north end of the city.

Now the days are quiet which I am enjoying after such a crazy month. I usually get a good mag in my stocking as well as a book that I like to devour between Christmas and New Years. This year it was People magazine (best and worst) and John Steinbeck's, "Sweet Thursday"

The kids are having a grand time. They received a good variety of gifts meaning not a mountain of toys as in other years. We even received Callaway Park Passes for the family....yeehaw!

I hope you and yours had a great Christmas.
