The Next Level

I know I have mentioned this before, but my neighbour and I are becoming (have become) very good friends. I have never reached this level with a neighbour since I left home (and the neighbourhood I grew up in) eleven years ago. Today, I actually borrowed a can of soup I needed for a recipe!!! That, I think, is huge for neighbours today.

I also met a new friend today. She is another mom in my son's class and we took the class swimming for an hour today. We chatted non-stop and had a great time. She is Jewish so the different religions made for some great conversation. Turns out, she lives around the corner from me so I hope to be seeing more of her soon.

Joel had another hockey game tonight. So intense, it is hard not to get caught up in the roaring from the stands (all positive of course). I feel like an idiot at times because I still don't know a lot of the rules of the game. Tonight was his fourth day in a row of hockey after a hard swim class today too. Poor boy, he crashed into bed. He sure works hard. He has a nice break from now until the weekend.

The other day while having dinner witht he kids I was telling them about our upcoming Christmas plans. I told them there would be 14 people over for Christmas dinner, going on to explain who. Joel's eyes as wide as saucers says, "14 people!!!??? So I guess that means no belching or farting at the table right?" Where do they get it? Not from me, that's for sure.
