Happy Valentines Day! This has been a great day so far. Actually a great week. Monday night we had an awesome time watching Joel's game (even if they lost). Finally starting to get to know the other parents which makes the experience that much richer. From the rink I was picked up for some authentic Thai, yum!
Tuesday night I had a surprise visit from a friend with a valentines gift and a hug. So sweet!
This morning I needed to be out the door by 8:10am so was in a bit of a rush. When I ran down the stairs to get my coat on I noticed a valentine gift and card on the counter waiting for me, (even though we agreed we wouldn't do anything for V-day). I didn't have time to open the card or look over the gift and resolved to do that when I got home. Jacob informed me there was a card to open and I said, "yes I know, I'll look at it when I get home." He, being all ready to go said, "I'll read it to you mom while you get your coat on." He open the envelope and began to read the card saying, "Happy Valentines Day to my Hottie of a wife..." He quickly shut the card, put it on the counter without finishing and said, "SICK". hee hee hee.
The kids cleaned up at school today. Wow, Valentines Day has come a long way from when I went to school. Passing around candy was not heard of. It is fun though and that is what the boys handed out. Julia gave out valentine pencils. I think it is such a fun day.
We are celebrating as a family tonight. After a special dinner, we are taking our passes (hooray for GM cereals) and going to a movie. A good way to start off the school holiday.

Glad you had a great day! We had a Valentine's day Storm. Messed up a lot of people's valentine plans! Did the kids get their valentines from Grandma? Hope they arrived on time!
yes they did thanks! Used the money to buy popcorn at the movies last night.
I remember when Allison started to feel comfortable with reading out loud...she would stand with me in the greet card aisle and say, "this is a good one mommy" and would proceed to read it out loud. Needless to say there were a few that she shouldn't read! Guess next time Steve will put it somewhere else than on the kitchen counter...
Actually, the card was very tame, nothing offensive at all. Jacob just gets grossed out at any show of affection between mom and dad which is typical I guess for a boy his age!
A boy his age!? I still get grossed out.
