It snowed last night. Enough snow for me to be firm on "you are wearing your boots and that's that!" Joel was quite upset with me. He hates wearing boots, 'they make me look fat' among other things like 'I can't run fast', 'I look silly'.
The kid is 7!!!! I can empathize with a teen struggling with the whole image thing and will make allowances then, but grade 2?? growl! It doesn't help that the store of choice throughout his class is West 49, a store that is way over priced for the crap quality you get.
Seriously, image has taken over our culture and our lives. There is just no denying it.
Imagine if I made him wear his snow pants. Gasp! One of us would be crucified for sure!

i've never had any problems getting my girls to wear their boots and snowpants, but my son, grrrr, must be a boy thing.
