- turning off water when brushing teeth.
- take quick baths and showers, put less water in the tub for a bath.
- walk, bike or carpool instead of drive.
- Use only bio-degradable cleaning products. Vinegar and baking soda work just as well as harsh chemicals.
- make your own coffee and use travel mug OR bring your own mug to the coffee shop instead of using cardboard.
- buy products with less packaging.
- reuse, reduce and recycle as much as possible.
- hang your clothes instead of using the dryer.
- keep the lights off whenever possible.
- Use a washable cloth for cleaning instead of paper towel.
- Consume less. Before every purchase ask: "Do I really need this?"
These are only a few of many things you can do with your family, not just today but regularly. If we make this a practice while our kids are young, imagine the difference it will make in them (and the earth) as they grow up. It will become a natural part of them and what they do.
