Today brought Steve and I to Red Deer for a lunch meeting. It was an opportunity for us to sit around a table with a dozen people between Grand Prairie and Calgary of similar mind. A dozen people from different denominations who are embracing the house church movement. Some are further along in their experiences than others which heightens the benefits of meeting together that much more.
I am encouraged to be a part of this network and to hear the story of others. It is refreshing to know that there are other people where you are. People who have the same challenges and struggles, not to mention the incredible opportunities God is placing before all of us.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity (after a long journey and a lot of tension) to be able to co-lead and pioneer a network of house churches in Calgary. I know God is sweeping through Suburbia (the forgotten people), using house churches to connect, heal and ultimately transform the isolated, lonely, stressed-out, hurting and falsely-fulfilled people found there.
How exciting!!
