Tonight Steve and Jacob are standing on kettles then going on a supper date. I have fed Joel and Julia and given them a bath so we could be all finished in time for Sponge Bob.
During the course of the evening we were talking about Christmas and gving and receiving presents. They both went on and on about everything they wanted until I told them we are finished buying for them and they can't have everything they want. I then proceeded to ask them, "what are you getting for me?" They thought about it for sometime. I don't think they even thought about it before. Very curiously, they began to ask me what I wanted for Christmas. I gave them some ideas and we went downstairs.
We put the TV on the proper station and were soon singing along; "who lives in a pineapple under the sea?" As usual, we had to sit through a series of commercials before the episode. One such commercial was, believe it or not, for "First Response Pregnancy Kits". Their eyes were wide and they were very in tune with the lady speaking on TV as she said, "There is such a thing as being a little pregnant. With new First Response we can detect the early signs of pregnancy so why wait."
Joel looked at me with full sincerity and said, "Mommy, would you like that for Christmas?"
All I could do was laugh at his innocence and cry at the thoughts of it.
