Drawing a Blank...what else is new?

I am sitting here at my desk feeling like crap with some kind of cold/flu. I am trying to write some detailed information about my job/ministry for the person who will eventually fill my shoes. It is not coming very easy to me. So, I am soliciting your help...

If you were replacing me, what kind of details would you want to know? I need some questions to kick-start my mind and get my fingers motoring on the keyboard.

What is your post? Are you in a church now? What do you do on a daily/hourly basis? Do you just hang out all day, blog all day, shop, write sermons, do devotions, have programs at the church, go visit people, what exaclty do you do? What do you think you should have been doing?

Thanks! I have jotted down some thoughts as well as taken a personal inventory and accountability check (gulp & grimace). Have I done enough? Have I done it right? DId I earn my keep? yikes!

Did you like it, what were the highlights, what were the slumps, what holidays did you enjoy celebrating witht the families the most, is ther a sticky door or quirky ____ you need to watch out for do the windows stick or the whatever whatever... different things to think of :)

By the way the dishwasher at the house you are going to sucks... unless they have replaced it in the past few years! There is no water twirly thing at the top of the dishwasher inside so rinse all the dishes first :) Odd thing for me to remember I know!

And to add to Margie's comment, the dishwasher is LOUD! You have to turn it off to have a decent conversation. Funny stuff to remember.

Thankfully my document is coming together, i needed that kick start and now I'm on a roll. I think it is my stuffed up head, runny nose and fever that was getting in the way of my thought process! Anyway, boy do I have a lot of details to pass on. Been flippin through some files thinking holy cow we've got a lot of stuff going on here in Children's Ministries...

I think sharing your vision and dreams for the ministry would hopefully inspirethe next person. Going into a new job they will likely feel uncertain - anything encouraging. Maybe a letter of encouragement and prayer for them.
