Our house has a history...no one has lasted two years in it. We are the fifth couple to reside in it in six years. We live on a cul-de-sac so everyone knows everyone else and a lot of their business. It is friendly and community oriented. When it is good weather, everyone is out talking and playing. In the summer, they sit out together in their lawn chairs, enjoying each other's company and having BBQ's.
For the first couple of weeks that we arrived, we didn't see anyone. Too cold. People come and go from their garages, closing the door behind them. As the weather warmed up and the chinooks blew in, we saw and met more and more people.
After a bit of small talk, everyone mentioned our house being cursed. That it has been blessed and exorcised but still there is soemthing going on. Yikes! Thanks people. The impression and standard has been set for us before we even moved in...we won't last...our house is cursed.
That's a bit unnerving and I don't know what to make of it all. I am still trying to decide if it has all just been coincidence or if there is something more to it. In either case God has not given us a spirit of fear but of boldness in him, therefore I am not afraid.

It is a great neighbourhood and good neighbours. All I can say is that when we went there we had issues and it had nothing ot do with the house or anything.
Keep praying and communicating and leave it to God. I kinda forgot that one.

I am glad you are not afraid. You have a great road ahead of you here. It won't be easy to convince your neighbors that you are different than all the others, but living by example is the perfect way. You guys are doing a good job so far being here in this short time.
I know we used to joke about it, dark humor I know. Bob (the dc) says he and Ben (pastor no 1) prayed and felt lead to that house, so he rebuked us for even joking about it.
Course it's more than the house, you're all in the same job as well with a good chunk of the same people. So yeah that would creep anyone out.
