"SEXY"

I just got home from an all-day field trip at the zoo with four large kindergarten classes, in the all-day rain I might add....YIKES!

So I am chilled, soggy, and glad to be home. My ears are still ringing.

I got to ride on the big yellow bus filled with five year olds! On the way home I had an interesting time/conversation with my son, his friend (who were both on the same seat as me) and a little girl in front of us who spent the entire ride on her knees turned around facing us. Chatting every second! At one point she stopped me in my spacing out zone and asked "what are you staring at?" Then she went on to say, "my mom and dad say that I talk a lot" Really?

So we're (she is) chatting. She is telling us all about these girls she knows who are FIVE and still suck their thumbs. She even knows someone who is SIX and sucks their thumb but she only sucks her thumb at night even though she tries hard not to.

The boy next to me said "SEX years old?...oh my". Well, she thought that was the funniest thing. She covered her face and giggled, "not SEX, SIX!" "he said sex!" I know what sex means but why don't you go ahead and tell the kids mrs. wiseman. Joel pipes in, "Oh you mean "suxy" (sexy). The other boy then asks me, "What does sexy mean?" I did not want to be in this conversation so I responded, "so how did everyone like those hippos?" It wasn't working. "what does sexy mean mrs. wiseman?" "Uh, it means good-lookin'". "Oh, I thought it meant pretty." "Yup it does" Then Joel proceeded to tell the girl in front of us how sexy she was. She thought that was great.

After a while they got bored of that and out of no where Joel blurts out, "you are HOT baby."
