Today I picked up some candy for the trick or treaters but I have no idea how many to expect!! This is our first Halloween in our new city so I don't know what it will be like. I do not want to get stuck with extra stuff. I could do without the temptation.
Later I was in the grocery store and the cashier had the gumption to say we don't get many kids, they go to the mall. Nice. What to do..return candy or take my chances.
I got home shortly after the kids did from school. I did not expect to come home only to discuss breast feeding, breasts and ultimately boobies with my six year old! Geez.
He and his grade one class are studying the growth and development of one particular baby. This baby is brought into the class once a month for them to observe and document the stages and progression in the babies life.
Joel told me about the baby's visit today. He gave me all the facts including the fact that the baby does not eat anything except "breasts...err...breastmilk from (patting his chest grinning and giggling) boobies!! "
Lots of questions (and facts according to a 6 yr old) followed over supper.
Great, just what we need in this house, another word to use and abuse for giggles and amusement.

What a neat learning idea! So much better than looking at a picture of a baby.
As far as Halloween candy - we get SO many kids here. The first year we had lived here about a month and were clueless (having lived in apartments we had never even handed out candy before). We ran out VERY quickly. I turned out the lights and hid and whispered "Sorry" to my conscience everytime someone knocked on teh door.
I seem to recall the mall thing for Halloween was a big deal in Calgary.
We get over 200 and then it's lights out!
I can just hear them!!!
I miss your supper table!
LOL
Me too! I don't know what was more fun-listening to the kids, or watching you & Steve Squirm
i'd ask the neighbors how many kids they normally get and plan on eating whatever is left over.
That's too funny...I totally taught that to a grade 3 class last year....it's Roots of Empathy...a really great program...I can tell you more about it if you want!!! By the way...if you don't know what to do with the candy I would be more then willing to come for a little visit and help you eat it!!
Boobs is a favorite in our house... of course but is first!
I'm spoiled...we go over to my parents house every year for trick or treating (they invite tons of people) so I never have to buy any candy.
But, I hope you got just enough candy for your house!!!
