Now You See it...Now You Don't

logged on to the computer yesterday and noticed my banner has disappeared. Hmmm.....

We will have to put up with this 'til I figure something out!

In other news, Joel had hockey again today. We see progress every week and both Steve and I said when we watch him on the ice giving it his utmost effort and oozing with passion, we forget everything else. We forget the financial strain and busy schedule.

Last week when they got off the ice, the coach says he wants to see everyone as sweaty as Joel. Being sweaty means you are working hard! Now Joel likes to brag about being sweaty!

After hockey we had a team social/meeting/lunch/banner making. Next week we are off to High River for their ice time.

When we got home, the kids were eager to carve their pumpkins. We had four to do. It was not as fun as I expected it to be. It was not as fun as in past years. They each had it in their minds what they wanted their pumpkins to look like. And me, being crazy mom wanted it done my way too (that's why I got the extra one for me, ha). Julia's HAD to be a girl. Well, how do you make distinguishing feminine features on a pumpkin? I decided to do a bow, long eyelashes and plump lips. What was I thinking? Do you know how hard it is to carve eyelashes?

While I was working hard on that, the boys are complaining that I wasn't moving fast enough to get to theirs. When I finally did, Joel wanted a very scary face and I could not get it to his liking. We ended up with lots of fangs which are equally challenging to carve as eyelashes. Steve and Jacob mangaed to pull something off on theirs and when they all left, I got to do mine. I am such a nerd.

Now we are enjoying the best part of the pumpkin carving tradition....roasted pumpkin seeds. Mmmm Mmmm good. They turned out perfect this year.

I don't want to do anything else today unless it involves chillaxin'

i've done girl pumpkins before!!!
glue false eyelashes on, apply red or pink lipstick, add blue eyeliner, glue curly blonde hair on, add earrings...
i guess you kind of try and make it look like a hooker!

We love the toasted pumpkin seeds here. We just have to watch Samuel as he shoves too many in then starts choking. Mind you, he does that with everything!

Glad the hockey thing is going well.

Enjoy tonight......and all the excess candy!
