Keepin' it on the 'down-low'

I've been slackin'off a bit with this blogging business. I am a little worried I have used up to many brain cells and do not have enough left to share anything of worth. I have gone into the blogger dashboard three times, stared at the screen and have clicked out again. Blogging blahs I guess.

***********

As I was preparing supper tonight, my imagination saw me as a chef extrodinaire (or however you spell it) but reality was seeing me in a different light. Then I got to thinking about the power of words. If I told you we had steak, rice and veggies for supper you'd probably think, "big deal", "boring" or "yuck". But If said I prepared tender beef simmered in a onion mushroom broth, served with fragrant basmati rice, cauliflour with rich cheese sauce and baby greens with balsamic vinigrette, I might prick your interest and have your mouth watering.

We sent our cat on an airplane to a new home today. I felt sad and guilty but managed well until Jacob came home. When he asked for Ginger, we told him what he already knew and he began to cry. He didn't get to say good-bye. He buried his face in my tummy and let it all out saying, "when I grow up I'm going to move to a city with no dumb cat laws and get myself a cat!". Steve brought over the Pot of Gold that was given to us and asked, "would chocolate cheer you up?" Instantly the tears dried up, a smile appeared and we enjoyed some chocolate.

***********

My favorite chocolate from the box of 'pot of gold' is definitely butter cream. Haven't had one in years.

Went to Banff on the weekend and enjoyed a good soak in the hot springs. it was cold outside but the water was 40 degrees. Rich.

I also found some very rare, dutch (salty) licorice, heaven!

Tomorrow I begin my new workout routine with my new (and first ever) partner. I can't believe how anxious and excited I am to go to the gym. I hope this feeling lasts. Usually I hate it. I find it so boring and lonely. Here's hoping for quick, easy, painless and instant results, woohoo!! (dreaming I know).

I cannot, cannot get over the fact that Tyra Banks has her own talk show. She has got to be the most annoying person on television right now. Beautiful yes, but talk show host? def not! (said in a loving, respectful manner of course!)

I don't watch TV. Except last night. I was speaking on the telephone, and staring hopelessly at America's Funniest Home Videos. There's so much happening in the TV and Entertainment world that I know nothing about. I quite like it that way. Now I get to hear all the twisted versions of the stories when I get to school. I think it's more exciting that way.

Toes, I hardly watch TV either, but when we flick through the channels I have seen her a few times and paused to see. After a few moments I get so irritated that I make Steve flick again, hee hee.

Sheldon, it is an aquired taste. When I buy them, i don't have to share cause no one likes them!

Trinity I hope it goes well at the gym too. I need someone to talk to and keep me accountable cause Leslie don't like workin' out!!

Don't know why you bother workin' out-you certainly don't need to lose weight. Maybe just to be healthy though.
My heart broke for Jacob and that cat. Poor little guy.
By the way..I would rather exercise than scrapbook.

I can't believe Tyra Banks had a mammogram live on TV. Sheesh. I know what she was trying to accomplish, besides ratings, but come on.

My heart broke for Jacob too, poor little lamb! He had a restless night last night.

When I read about your cat by-law, I thought that was a bit much. Then I checked our local city hall website for by-laws and there is a similar one here in Elliot Lake. Not only that, but every dog and cat has to be licensed through city hall which can cost up to $50 per year for a dog or $40 per year for a cat. I also discovered that I'm not allowed to keep an elephant. We just haven't bothered getting a pet.
