Today is Thanksgiving here in Canada and it is turning out to be a perfect day! The sun is shining, the air is warm and the smell of turkey roasting in the oven is floating through the air.
Delish!!
Besides the turkey in the oven, we had a bunch of turkeys on the field behind our house this morning. We held our first annual South Meadows Turkey Bowl and it was fantastic. A good game and a great spirit. A group of 14 eager participants came out on their day off to kick around the ball, followed by some wicked nice (watched Mr. Deeds last night, lol) fellowship at Tim Hortons. After all, what's Thanksgiving without football? No, I didn't play, but I did take pictures for your viewing pleasure.
We have no family close to us, so this year we decided to invite others in the same situation. I am planning a turkey dinner with all the trimmings for 11 people, can't wait!
The best part about this day was the fact that my kids were excited about the holiday. No presents under the tree just good times with good company. They greeted us this morning with a hug and a "Happy Thanksgiving".
Reveling in it........
