Breathing Easy...if only for a moment

The weekend has past and we made it through still standing. Every weekend in December for us is completely loaded, that's Christmas for you. Some of the main features of this weekend were:
Parent Viewing at Ballet. Since Julia began taking ballet lessons in September, the parents haven't been permitted to watch. Yesterday, was parent day. She was so cute and shy enough to have her tongue hanging out the whole time. I was so proud. It is so fulfilling to watch her enjoy something so much!

Later that evening we went to the theatre production of Treasure Island. We were graciously given tickets for the whole family. It was a late night for the kids but worth it. They have never experienced live theatre before and they were captivated by it. It was a bit scary at times with pirates and all and Julia would say, "oh mommy this is a scary movie."

Today was rush home from church and put together a birthday party for Jacob. We had one hour before the guests arrived to eat lunch, clean, blow up balloons and decorate, fill loot bags, wrap gifts, gather game supplies and prepare snacks. We made it, barely! This afternoon was party time. Yee-haw! Why is it that even when you over prepare and have tons of games, they are over in 20 minuntes? I love celebrating birthdays and hosting parties for my kids but I am so glad we are finished with them for another year. phew!

Taking a few deep breaths until it starts all over again in the morning..........

I guess letting them just hang out is ok. That's what I was encouraged to do when faced with the same scenario.
