Poppity-pop-pop-pop!

Today I discovered that it is very tricky to eat Pop Rocks and drive at the same time. It could be considered an art I think, because there is a technique to eating them which requires two hands. In order to eat and enjoy Pop Rocks in the cleanest possible way, you must first dump a small pile in the hand that is not holding the bag. Then, you have to kinda 'throw' them in your mouth, being careful not to get the palm of your hand wet, creating a sticky mess on the steering wheel. So, you can see how this coordination can become a slight challenge while operating a vehicle.

Don't worry, no one was injured.

Am I the only person over the age of 12 out there who still enjoys a few Pop Rocks every now and then?

Man I miss those! I should buy some. I had a craving today for kool-aid ice pops. Remember making those as kids?

Ha ha Mand, I sure do know those lego candies! WHEN you come out here, we'll have to go visit the candy shops in Banff. Mmmm...sponge toffee...

And yes Tammy, I remember making Kool-aid ice pops! Once the juice was all sucked out I would toss them and go for another. My favourite cool treat however has to be those Jumbo Mr. Freeze freezies.

Due to an ordering error, DHQ ended up with a case of something from Cadbury called Magical Elves. (Case means 24 boxes of 100 each!) They are elf-shaped Cadbury's milk chocolate with pop rocks embedded in the chocolate. As the chocolate melts in your mouth, you are left with popping candy.

A word of caution from personal experience: you don't want to be answering the phone with one of these in your mouth. It tends to destroy your professional bearing when your conversation is "punctuated" by popping candy. ;)

Those Magical Elves were the best thing that came out last Christmas. Mmmmm chocolate and pop rocks in the same bite - can't beat that!

Oh yes - Mr. Freezies! I can relate to Ian's comment too because a few years ago when I worked at Pine Lake the same thing happend and we ended up with boxes and boxes of Starbursts and Skittles. I swear I ate 3 packs of each per day. Man, it's a wonder we're all not 600 lbs by now!

Ian,
I am quite familiar with those Magical Elves. Thank goodness DHQ didn't share them...too much temptation. Yummy.

One of the kids in youth group gave me pop rocks for when I was in labour with my first. She thought it might distract me from the pain....
