Summer is teasing me!

Sometimes I experience inner tensions which create doubt and discouragement about who I am, what I'm doing and how I'm doing it.

I don't know if I can possibly explain it very well, but I place high expectations on myself that I can never measure up to. Having a job that is not cut and dry, or 9-5 is a challenge for me at times. It is a constant balancing act of eveything that needs to be done, the immediate and future planning, the menial tasks, the dreaming of the future and the day to day relationship building, ie hanging out, visiting and just plain being with people.

I always ask myself, "am I doing things right? am I doing enough? should I be doing things different?" etc.

I was reminded again last night (at a course I'm taking) that relationships are the single most important thing in life. It was a good reminder for me, actually an encouragement and affirmation to what I am already convinced of. Relationships take time and energy, sometimes to the exclusion of the 'things' to do. And that's okay, for me anyway, even though it may not be for others.

In light of that, I'm having a great week so far. I am having a people week. I really love being with people...eating...chatting...coffee...laughing...crying...t's all a part of the journey and I'm glad to be on it!

Oh, and for the record, I think Steve has me hooked on "The Office" really great show, if you like that sort of humour!

P.S. It was so hot and sunny today! The kids dug out their shorts, tanks and flip-flops and played outside for hours! I was able to clean up the backyard quite nicely, Rocky makes such a mess out there. It felt so summery, I had to dig out the patio furniture, and have a BBQ for supper! Ah, love it!

This course you are taking sounds wonderful!

Btw, my hubby loves The Office! I can tell when he's watching it cause I hear him laughing two flights up!

I love the office as well. Although I do think the British version is WAY funnier. I love the dry humor.

I wish we could sit and drink coffee together... while in the asame room!

We should go camping together this summer... meet half way and have a wise-good time:) Man am I ever funny. Mind you half way would probably be in the middle of no where:)

We are looking at buying a pop up too:) :)

Bar-b-ques, the outdoors, and slurpees is what summer is all about. We have been sitting at about 25 degrees celsius all week. It's been wonderful - although I REALLY need to get the air-conditioning fixed in my car!
Keep smiling sweetie!

Leslie, I found your site while trying to stay awake for an overnight Saturday nightshift in HRM trying to help keep the city safe... it has sure changed over time. What a great site you have here. Now that I have found you I will visit often.

Lisa and I are counting down the days until it is trailer time for the summer.

I will keep reading- thanks
