Good for breakfast lunch and supper, which has been the case for me within the past 24 hrs. whatever. A handful here and there keeps me going through the day. It is my once a year treat!
Last weekend while Steve was away, the kids and I decorated for halloween. It was a beautiful, warm, sunny day as we put spiderwebs and a ghost in the tree, pumpkin lights in the window, caution tape over the front door, bat decals in the windows and chalk body outlines on the pavement. I even got a wicked costume for myself and scary sound effects for all those trick-or-treaters who DON'T come knocking. Now everything is covered in snow and the pumpkins are completely frozen.
Yesterday I was taking a 'me' day which ended up being a little hectic. I spent the afternoon making 8 dozen rolled out, cut out and decorated halloween cookies for each of the kids classrooms to enjoy. I made coffins, and skulls and ghosts, and cats and witches and of course pumpkins! I should have taken pictures because it may not happen ever again. By the time I was finishing, the kids were all looking to carve their pumpkins. And then there was some last minute costume mending to do. Too much happening to take pictures.
Last year Julia wanted a girls pumpkin which I didn't think I could pull off but surprisingly to me, I did. This year, she wanted a princess, with a crown and all. Joel has a wolf face and Jacob wanted a vampire.
This morning, while getting the kids ready for school, I applied my green make-up, rotten teeth, grey hair and witches hat, grabbed my broom and brought the kids to school. Joel (for whatever reason) kept his distance, I don't know why I embarrass him so ;) Julia ate it up and her and I had a great time at the kindergarten halloween party!
I will have pictures to show later tonight. Until then, Happy Halloween!
