Affirmation

Affirmation is a beautiful thing. Today during one of my visits, I felt very affirmed. Not the pat on the back, 'you're doing a great job' type of affirmation (which is also good every once in a while), but an active listening of my thoughts and feelings. I was heard and understood and not discouraged for the thoughts I grapple with and the questions I have. Questions I have about life, family, ministry and future stuff. Instead of raised eyebrows I was told, "I am asking important questions, I need to be thinking of these things..." What a relief. What an affirmation.
