We are still going strong with birthdays around here. Jacob's birthday is coming up in Decenber, but we are having his party on Sunday. We are taking a few of his friends to see 'Happy Feet'. My heart just melts when I see him get excited about something and he is really excited. He does a little happy dance when people call to RSVP.

I am a bit worried though. The theatre assures me the movie begins at 2:30 but the ads in the paper say 3:00. What will I do to occupy the kids if indeed it is 3:00 they are being dropped off at 2:00)? Should I be freaking out? I called to double check and they are standing by their word. I have never known the paper to list wrong movie times, have you?

My boys aren't asking for anything in particular this Christmas. There are a few things they have mentioned but no special list. They are so easy going and 'unpicky' when it comes to gifts and such, they are happy with anything. The other day Jacob told me what he really wanted for Christmas was socks! According to him, everytime he goes to put a pair on, they have a hole in them. I think Santa can manage a few pair of socks ;)

It took all week, but we managed to get the tree up in the family room. This is the tree with the multi-colored lights and hand-made ornaments that the kids get to decorate themselves. They did a great job, so beautiful, so Christmasy, so peaceful to sit next to at night! Jacob wanted to string popcorn, but all we have is microwave stuff which would be too greasy to work with and put on a tree. I no longer have a corn popper for the regular stuff and NO, I don't want one either. We opted for good ol fashioned dollar store tinsel.

The kids actually cooperated for a family Christmas pic. It was one of those, 'set the timer on the camera and look happy' type. Meh, good enough for me. I ordered a bunch of prints on the internet. I was told the bill was $27 but when I went to pick them up, it was only $8...bonus! Sent a bunch out this week and what I saved on prints I surely spent on postage..yikes! It took a while 'cause I have to write a little note to everyone. I'm not sure people would even want a picture, but they are getting one anyway.

That's all for now. I am having a hard time using this blog to say what I really want to say. People judge, enough said.

What theater are you going to? You may want to triple check those times. According to cinemaclock.com the theater down by your place is showing the movie at 3:00. The only theater with at 2:30 showing is in Cochrane.

Check for yourself. Here's a direct link. You'll notice they list the showtimes at other theaters as well.

Leslie, we do the popcorn and cranberries every year and I also do not have a popper. We use the low fat microwave popcorn and it works like a charm. and it also stops Steven from chowing down since he likes the double butter with melted butter on top!! hahhah

Maybe I will try that! Do you dry the cranberries first?

Thanks postman, now I am freaking out! They made me feel like an idiot for questioning them and told me not to go by the paper. Who doesn't go by the papers!

no dried cranberries... fresh ones... its fun... the kids help push the berries down the string as not to get poked with the needle. and they are also in charge of chasing down the cranberries that run away.. or bounce away.. and in case you did not know a cranberry that bounces is a fresh cranberry. the things you learn from your elementary school aged kids.haha
