She Didn't Hear it From Us...

This morning I was at the school bright and early to go swimming with Joel's class. While I was waiting for them, I heard the sweet melodies from a guest brass band in the gym. I followed the sound of Christmas tunes to where they were playing and peeked in to see almost the entire school on the floor watching and listening. For one split second I reminisced of my brass band playing days.

Later today, when the kids came home, I asked my usual questions, "how was school?" "What did you do?" etc. Julia was eager to say, "Mom, we listened to these people playing trumpets and stuff, and it was sooo annoying."
