Creator's Block

Jacob is an extremely logical kid. I fear that his logic will one day interfere with his faith, posing life-long struggles. I already see some signs of that.

Sometimes however he floors me with his thoughts. Yesterday over lunch we had a nice chat. He was looking around, looking out the window, drinking it all in as he usually does. He then says, "you know mom, the world is really just one big story isn't it? It is God's story, already written. He knows what is going to happen and all of us people are characters in the story."

I took it a step further and replied, "you could say that, but I like to think that life is a story. And the greatest thing about that is, every single person out of several billion have their own story. That is what is so great about friendships and relationships, we get to share our stories with each other."

He kind of liked the thought of that and then was distracted by his thoughts of just how many people God has created and continues to craete. "Mom, God creates so many people how does he keep coming up with new ideas? Something different each time?" Before I could respond he had it figured out. "I think sometimes God gets tired of trying to think of something different, and that is when he makes people have twins."
