Taking my Chances

It is a tradition in our house to get a new toothbrush in your stocking every Christmas. This year, Jacob specifically asked for the new Colgate 360 (gotta love marketing!)

During his Christmas shopping, Steve picked one up for each of the boys and for me. We all got the same tooth brush. There must have only been a choice of two colours because Jacob got an orange one and Joel and I got the same green one. No biggie because we have our own bathroom and can avoid any confusion.

However, today when I went to brush my teeth, I noticed two identical toothbrushes side by side in my toothbrush holder. Now I don't consider myself to be a germaphobe, but I am not a fan of sharing toothbrushes, even with my own kids...especially the sick one!!

With a 50% chance of getting the right one, I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, played 'eeny, meeny, miny, moe' and proceeded to brush my teeth. I'll never know whose brush I used. I just have to let it go.

I have heard it said that true love means being able to share a toothbrush. Not so sure. Would you share yours?????

Sure I'd share mine. Who cares? Sharing mine wouldn't be a problem. The problem would be someone sharing their toothbrush with me. That's nasty.

And why would you even take a chance knowing that you may use a toothbrush that belongs to the child that has been barfing? I'd rather not brush at all.

Yeah, should have reworded that, I'd let someone use mine but wouldn't want to use theirs. eww.

I have a brushing routine. I can't not brush. If I'm throwing up next, I'll know why.

Only if it was sterilized first - especially if the other owner was sick! On the other side, maybe you've already used his and didn't know it! That's a whole different thing (and feeling...what you don"t know won't hurt you)

Is it any worse than kissing someone? Germs are germs!
