Quick Update

I spent most of the day yesterday in the far north of the city with my step sister. She just had a new baby, moved to a new house, and has two children already (one who is handicap). It was very rewarding for me to be able to help. Newborns are so scrumptious and I could have just held him forever.

When I got home, I noticed Julia had another birthday invitation! This Saturday will be full for her as she goes from one party to the next, both in very active play places! I am pretty sure all of the girls in the class have now had their birthdays. I am guessing this will be the last one unless she starts getting invited to the boys'.

Jacob is home sick today. Same thing Julia had on friday, fever and hurting tummy. I'm thinking I will keep them all home from kids club tonight and lay low.

Dryer fixer man comes tomorrow...woot! A family of five with broken dryer and no line is no fun!

Started on a sewing project for the boys finally. I am going to attempt pockets, oooh aahh.

Must run, I am being picked up in 40 mins.

Family of five and no dryer is NOT so good...it happened to us a couple of weeks before we had to be leaving our last quarters. Part wasn't coming in until AFTER we left. I even had to leave a pile of towels, etc. for my neighbour to wash and dry for me after leaving the house for good. No clothes line and even if we did the weather wasn't cooperating and I could only dry so much on little wooden clothes things in my living room! So, I carried bundles of linens and towels down to my neighbours to use her dryer. Another neighbour (sort of) was out joggin and he offered his dryer as well (nice gesture but it wasn't exactly on the same street as ours, nor two doors away!) To think that our ancestors didn't have dryers and usually larger families!

It must get pretty expensive buying gifts for so many parties. I never even thought about it until you mentioned it. I hope Maya doesn't have too many girls in her classes...haha.

Our dryer wasn't working last week so Jeremy took it apart and thought that he had fixed the problem. Just two days later is still wasn't drying any clothes so he then went outside to look at the vent from there and VIOLA there was a pile of lint that had gotten caught in the vent leading to the outside of our house. Who would have thunk it?!

I hear you about the machines not working. i have been without a washing machine for over a week, getting tired of washing by hand in the kitchen sink! And waiting and waiting for the guy to come fix it is driving me batty!

If you were going to buy a golf club, you wouldn't walk into a store and buy the first one you see, would you? Of course not; especially if you want to improve your golf game! You'll want to hold the club, take some practice swings, hit some balls if the store has a practice spot, and look at the price, of course. If you are considering buying running shoes, you need to go through a similar process and take the time to find the perfect shoe.
