"so-lo-la-mi-go"
Today I have to tackle a couple of big jobs that I have been avoiding and I am not happy about that. Boo!
----
Gardening is back-breaking work. I only managed to get the tiny front garden weeded, I don't know when I'll get a chance to work at the back. Feeling defeated already.
----
I am having fun being an Avon lady! :o)
----
Been going through and studying the book of Mark (one of my favourites) It has been both encouraging and challenging. I find the more you learn the more you want to know.
----
That's all for today.

Quick Update
I have a few stolen moments to jot a few things down....
- May is an incredibly busy month for me, and as I reflect over the past few years, I realize that it is busy every year. My calendar is blackened and I can't possibly squeeze anything else into it. This week has me out every single night and running around every day.
- Thanks to facebook, I am able to reconnect with an old childhood/school/growing up friend tonight. She happens to be in town from the east coast on a business trip. so, another friend (who lives here) and I are going to spend some time with her tonight. Fun!
- I just received my revised notice from the government telling me how much I will now be getting for my GST credit. It is not even worth sending to me...ha!
- Julia had picture day for ballet yesterday. We were at the community center for two hours waiting. The costumes are incredible, the make-up extreme but such a fun experience.
- I had such a lovely day today with such a lovely person.
- I cleaned my room on the weekend. It really needed to be done, really really badly.
- The boys were given a box of toys from Phil W yesterday. It has some fun nerf guns (gasp!) in it. They have been having such a fun time (dad too). Jacob just won $5 in a competition (that we didn't think was possible to get). The three of them were aiming at a certain target and he actually got it!
- I got bleach on and ruined a brand new pair of capris today. That is worthy of an ARGH!!! Thankfully they were inexpensive.
- I am proud to be the latest AVON representative in a neighbourhood near you.

Born to be Wild
I love being spontaneous!
It suits my personality.
Perogies are quite good too.
That's all I will share for today.

Being Alone isn't Always Lonely
While I love, appreciate, even prefer the company of others, there are times when I'd rather be alone. Times when I feel I am more productive if I am alone. Certain things are are just better done alone.
For instance, I prefer to shop alone as it requires a certain level of concentration and 'humming and hawing'. Sometimes, when shopping with others, I feel I am holding them up.
I also prefer to do 'creative hobbies' alone. I am less creative and more distracted around others.
Probably the most crucial activity for me to do alone is eat a mango!
Definitely.
It is one of the tastiest treats in the produce section and the most awkward and messy to eat. I can be polite and cut it up in chunks, but then there is so much goodness wrapped around that pit that goes to waste. Honestly, the only way to fully enjoy the mango is to gnaw at the pit, held over the sink as the juice runs down your face and arms and the strings get all tangled up in your teeth.
Yes, the mango is best eaten in private.
That about sums it up!
Oh! And this is post # 600.

TGIF
Thank goodness we have reserved our Friday nights for 'family night', lately it is the only evening we are all home! Since Steve has been out every night this week, Jacob and I have been bonding over 'the wheel of fortune'. I think he loves the special attention after the other two are in bed and he is good competition too.
I am entirely sick of snow. I hope we get an especially long summer to make up for this. A few kids knocked on our door yesterday in the rain/snow looking to play with the boys. They spent an hour out in the freezing cold rain playing street hockey. Die hards!
I have a major itch to purge and get rid of clothes and stuff we evolved out of as a family. I can't wait until yard sale season.
After scrounging high and low to make supper and put together lunches for today, I have come to the ugly conclusion that grocery shopping must be done. "Where does the food go, we wanna know..." I'll be digging out the cart coin today...oh yes!

Each New Day
Been living life and working hard.
Getting more rest.
Re-evaluating the whole blogging thing (as I do every year) thus, the lack of posting and reading.
Getting ready to revisit a hobby I have put aside for a whole year.

This-n-That
We had our parent/teacher visits today. All three kids are doing very well for which I am pleased. Looking around the school, I am just amazed at the artwork done by the students. It is incredible, even (especially) the kindergarten kids. Wow! I especially like the "block painting". I was totally inspired to get some canvass and do a project. Just not sure what type of paint I would use. Suggestions? You can sure tell the school has a resident artist this year.
***
My boy makes me laugh. Yesterday when I picked him up from drum lessons, he told about a conversation he had with his teacher. The lesson was over and he was picking out his sticker, during that time it went something like this...
Jacob: "hmm, hmmm hmmm" (humming a tune)
"I'm sorry, am I bothering you?"
Teacher: "no not at all"
Jacob: "Good. I felt the moment needed something."
***
This afternoon I am making lots of palm branches for Sunday (Palm Sunday) wasn't sure where to purchase real ones. Hopefully these will do the trick.
***
That's it! I'm doing it, I'm going to paint that pciture and frame it and hang it and everything!!
So many projects, so little time.

Bound to Happen
Just got a call from school to pick Joel up. Now it is his turn. Week #3 with this stomach flu. *sigh*
I can't wait for life to get back to normal.
Friday begins spring break. We have no plans other than going to a movie or two. I'm sure we will come up with something fun for the kids to do.
Got our summer camping times booked! woohoo! If anyone knows where I can get cheap wood to burn let me know, it would be helpful.
Julia got her costume for the big year end ballet show. She will be a mermaid (undersea princess). The costume is incredible but miles too big. It will come in handy around halloween too.
Speaking of costumes... she has been learning about fairy tales in school this month. Tomorrow she has to come dressed up as a fairy tale character. Not sure what we'll do yet, but it will be something from the tickle trunk.
All three kids did well on their report cards and Julia definitely likes to "Socialize with her friends" hee hee.
Accessory shopping is so much fun!
So are paper shredders.

Quick Update
I spent most of the day yesterday in the far north of the city with my step sister. She just had a new baby, moved to a new house, and has two children already (one who is handicap). It was very rewarding for me to be able to help. Newborns are so scrumptious and I could have just held him forever.
When I got home, I noticed Julia had another birthday invitation! This Saturday will be full for her as she goes from one party to the next, both in very active play places! I am pretty sure all of the girls in the class have now had their birthdays. I am guessing this will be the last one unless she starts getting invited to the boys'.
Jacob is home sick today. Same thing Julia had on friday, fever and hurting tummy. I'm thinking I will keep them all home from kids club tonight and lay low.
Dryer fixer man comes tomorrow...woot! A family of five with broken dryer and no line is no fun!
Started on a sewing project for the boys finally. I am going to attempt pockets, oooh aahh.
Must run, I am being picked up in 40 mins.

Argh!!
I am really not as frustrated or down as it may appear. But I am "ARGHing" over a few simple things today....
PICKLES: my craving for bread & butter pickles was denied. There were none in the fridge and I wasn't about to go buy any (I might today though since I happen to need milk).
DRYER: not working, not drying the clothes. I have been working on three loads since Tuesday.
BLOGGER: I caved under the pressure to switch to the new blogger. Tried to tweak a few things and lost everything. This is a double ARGH because usually when I change it up, I save during the process so I can put it all back togather again.
On the upside....
We are a part of a murder mystery dinner party tomorrow evening. I'm thinking it is going to be hilarious! The one problem is, my character is one who is never happy or smiles. Not sure how I'm going to pull that off, I am smiling just thinking about it. I guess I'll come up a lot in the deleted scenes or bloopers.

On My Mind This Day in Time.
In no particular order, these things have been flooding my thoughts today...
1. So much for the birthday gift cupboard. The two invitations this week cleaned me out.
2. My ineffectiveness.
3. The hardship/heartache/toils of parenting. Not sure which is worse, living through the 'growing up' years or parenting through them.
4. The value of supportive friends.
5. The importance of focusing on the positive things in life.
6. Bread & Butter Pickles.

To be expected...
- late nights mean cranky mornings.
- not every day is a good day.
- sledding down a big, bumpy hill means squeels and laughter.
- squeels and laughter are great for emotional release.
- having a day off creates a short week.
- a short week means extra busy, trying to squeeze 5 days worth into 4.
- not everyone will like me and the way I do things all of the time.
- when you don't walk your dog, he is going to be hyper.
We had a fantastic time yesterday sledding and celebrating a birthday. I overcame my fear to a certain degree and headed down the hill more than once. Weee-boy! It was very bumpy and I got some serious air. I thought a few times I would flip but I held tight and was okay. It wasn't that great for the tail bone but hey, it was worth it. What fun! What laughter! Took my breath away....literally! I really need to do that more often. Especially the hike back up the hill...yikes! All of these exclamation points are making me feel like Elaine!!! (sorry couldn't resist).

Random Thoughts Floating Around
- I am so tired my eyeballs are burning.
-Winter Weekend was good, but the one night we were there, we got next to no sleep.
- It will take a few nights for me to catch up.
- Our kids are supposed to be having a sleepover tonight with a friend from school.
- We are making root beer floats and going swimming.
- Tomorrow is Alberta Family Day. We are planning some outdoor fun.
- "I am not my hair" (te he he)
- seriously, we are not defined by the way we look, or by the size (or type) of clothes we wear.
- will we ever get that?
- 85% of North American women don't like the way they look.
- That is so sad.
- I think apathy is destroying society and the church.
- I am not immune to it .
- I want to go and see Music & lyrics. I'm thinking I will. I have until the 28th before my pass expires.
