So I guess anyone who reads this blog will already know our big news, we are moving. We got a call yesterday from our divisional leader telling us we are appointed to the "South Meadows Community Church" in Calgary effective January 21st 2005. We have 6 weeks to get through Christmas, pack, clean, get everything in order at MT for whoever fills our shoes, and leave. We will be rushed. (Deep breaths.)
This is a long way from home, but we are very excited about it. We had the opportunity to go there last weekend. We were able to meet the leadership team and share in worship on the Sunday. We were very impressed with those we talked to. And as we listened to their story and had a chance to share ours, we were amazed at how close they were. We were amazed at how we were reaching for very similar goals.
Before we met with them we earnestly sought God. We were looking for direction and clarity and peace. We asked him to make it obvious one way or the other. We were looking for 2 indicators 1. a sick to my stomach, this is not right feeling, or 2. complete peace, this is right. God came through for us and throughout the weekend we felt nothing but peace. We felt at home and knew this was where God wanted us.
The kids are looking forward to it as much as they can understand. They have no concept of time and so I don't think they fully get the reality of it. As long as the boys get bunk beds they'll be ecstatic. However, they do get the name of the place a little confused. They think we are going to California!

I'll be praying for you guys as you move. Wish I could have gotten to know you both a bit better.
Well as a kid I got Calvary and Calgary mixed up, so California is not so bad...
- Peace
Hey - I am so happy for you guys - but I'm going to miss you both! Sounds like the place is going to be a great fit - and I know you will do great things there. I am sure God has awesome things planned for all of you.
On a sad note I will miss you both!
Heather
WooHoo! We'll practically be neighbours!
