What's a Blonde without a few Blonde moments?

I have my share of blonde moments. Times when I (a fairly intellegent individual hee hee) do really stupid things resulting in me feeling like a complete idiot! Thankfully I am able to laugh at myself and not get all bent out of shape about not being perfect. It is quite the entertainment which (I might add) is free and follows me where ever I go!

Yesterday's episode was a doozie for a floozie.

I was volunteering in my daughter's kindergarten class. I love being there, interacting with the kids and staff and feeling a part of the school community. It is something that is important for me to be able to do.

During snack time, the teacher assigned me to a 'fun' activity and asked me to set up and oversee the water table center. Ooooh that is fun, I thought. "say no more" I said, "I know right where to go and how to fill up the water table." Off I went down the hall pushing the empty table nodding at and greeting everyone I met along the way to the janitor's room. I took a look and he was not there so I, (feeling quite confident) ushered myself into his space to fill up my table.

There was a hose attached to the tap which made it the perfect place to fill up the table. I checked the plug on the table (even though I had no idea which way was open or close) set the water temperature just right and began filling the table. It was taking a little longer than I thought it should, but I didn't mind I interacted with those passing in the hall and listened to the teacher across the hall explain 'rounding to the nearest ten'.

In those brief moments I owned the world, I was in the groove. I belonged at the school. I fit in!

The table looked full enough now. I turned off the water. The water didn't stop running. My feet felt wet! GASP!! Oh no! Don't tell me! I look down and there I was standing in two inches of water! The entire janitor's room was flooded and water was escaping out the door and down the hall. That's when I figured out which way was 'open' on the table.

Idiot!

For a few moments I just stood there helplessly looking at the water, wondering how to clean it up. I scanned the shelf, there was only one small stack of paper towels. The mop bucket was there, full of water. Grabbing the mop I began one trickle at a time soaking up water until the bucket would hold no more water. Couldn't empty the bucket...too heavy. I grabbed the stack of paper towels, threw them on the floor to soak up some more. By the time I finished there was only 1/2 and inch of water left everywhere for the janitor when he returned.

Thankfully he doesn't know who I am.

I did not need that hassle.

I think I could use a nap or a spa day....

you are way too cute! And very sneaky...I'm sure the janitor is still trying to track down the person who tried to flood his room! heehee. I love being in school settings as well...that is something that will be important to me as well when my children eventually come along.

Oh dear! I feel for you! But believe me, blonde moments are not only for those who are blonde! I don't consider myself to have blonde hair but by golly, I have some stupid moments sometimes (and I think for the most part I'm pretty intelligent!:)
