We are yet another step out of the early childhood stage. The first step is usually graduating from botttle to sippy cup then diaper to potty, car seat to booster, kindergarten to first grade and so on.
My baby is six and has now out grown picture story books. When we go to the library or bookstore or rummage through the scholastic catalogues, it is all chapter books thus marking another step in growing up!
I don't usually look at the scholastic book orders or else I would be buying books all the time. This week the kids brought home a stack of order forms and of course they all wanted some.
While there are great deals from scholastic, I have the inside scoop of an even better deal. Value Village! I popped in there today while running errands and found shelves lined with scholastic books. Hundreds of books from hundreds of homes who filled out the scholastic order forms, paid the money and eventually handed the books over to Value Village. I was able to get all the books that the kids wanted at only $0.99 each. Not only that, buy four get one free.
Now I've got to think about parting with all of our favorite childhood storybooks. I however am not going to drop them off at Value Village. I will first go the route of Kijiji ( love this site) or add them to the yard sale pile.
Happy Reading.
