Recently, Steve was in Ontario for a conference and was able to hang out with our freinds Pernell and Margie. While there Margie did a great job at convincing us to do some gardening this year. I shrugged it of at first because I am not big on gardening. meh. But as I researched a bit about container gardening, I realized I could have some homegrown veggies without all the fuss of 'garden in the ground' upkeep.
So, we as a family have embraked on this project together. Each of the kids picked out seeds of the type of plant they would like to plant and nurture along the way. We made a great mess with soil and water. Now everyday, they look with anticipation to see how their garden is growing, not to mention watering and watering and watering. The poor plants now need a few days to come up for air.
So far we have planted,

So far we have planted,
- peas
- sugar snap peas
- peppers
- carrots
- watermelon
- cucumber
- beans
- radishes
with more good stuff on the way when I get a few more containers. Here's hoping for a good crop. The last time I tried vegetables, the squirrels ate everything before I got a chance to harvest. I guess that is one upside to having no trees around here, no squirrels!
Thanks Margie for encouraging us to do this.
